Fay Carathanassis studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. During her studies she focused on competition law, intellectual property and media law. She then completed her legal clerk-ship at the Higher Regional Court of Munich. During her legal clerkship, she worked in the 33rd Civil Law Chamber of the Regional Court of Munich I (in the field of industrial property rights; copyright and film law), in a renowned media law firm and in the legal department of The Walt Disney Company (Germany) GmbH. Since May 2021 she has been working as a research assistant at the Chair of Law and Security in Digital Transformation of Professor Dr. Dirk Heckmann and since November 2023 as a researcher at the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt). She is doing her doctorate in media law.
