Dr. Jawid Ahmad Baktash is an accomplished computer scientist, researcher, and academic leader, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of FEMSTECH Worldwide e.V., a global non-profit dedicated to advancing digital skills and gender inclusion in technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of the Ryukyus, Japan, where his research focused on formal modeling and verification of network systems. He earned his M.Sc. in Computer Science from South Asian University (India) and his B.Sc. from Kabul University (Afghanistan).

Dr. Baktash has held academic appointments as Assistant and Associate Professor in the Department of Software Engineering at Kabul University. He conducted postdoctoral research and served as a research assistant at the University of the Ryukyus, and was a visiting researcher at Avignon University, France.

In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Baktash has contributed significantly to science and education policy in Afghanistan, serving as Academic and Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Higher Education and as Director General for Research, Innovation, and Science at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

His research interests include artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and formal methods in distributed systems.
