Maria Jose Rodriguez Velazquez is pursuing a Master of Science in Politics & Technology with a concentration in Data & Society at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Originally from Mexico, Majo completed a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a minor in German at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. During her undergraduate studies, she developed a strong interest in the intersection of international collaboration and emerging technologies, earning the prestigious DAAD Scholarship to continue her academic journey in Germany.
Majo’s research and professional interests center on how technology can act as a bridge rather than a divider—particularly for stakeholders and communities often left behind in technological transitions. She is deeply committed to making complex technologies more understandable and accessible, ensuring that innovation empowers rather than alienates. In her thesis, Majo is exploring the adoption and aversion of Generative AI tools across different types of workers, aiming to uncover pathways toward more inclusive integration of AI in the workplace.
