The seventh annual ACM FAccT conference will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from June 3rd to June 6th, 2024 at the Othon Palace Hotel (see below for discounted reservations) on Copacabana Beach. The Othon Palace Hotel is located on Avenida Atlântica, 3264, Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil, 22070-000. The conference brings together researchers and practitioners interested in fairness, accountability, and transparency in socio-technical systems. It builds on the success of the previous edition of the conference, held in Chicago, US.

Prof. Dr. Orestis Papaksriakopoulos and Prof. Dr. Simon Hegelich, together with Dr. Juan Carlos Medina Serrano, have analyzed how hyperactive users control opinions and thus influence political discourse. For this contribution, OSNEM (Online Social Networks and Media) awarded them the Best Paper Award in 2023.
