Sanhit Mehta is a doctoral candidate and research assistant at the Professorship for Governance, Public Policy & Innovative Technologies at the TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology. His research is part of the TransforM Cluster of Excellence, where he examines the governance of emerging technologies with a particular focus on quantum technologies, institutional capacity, and innovation ecosystems.

He holds an M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Amsterdam, where his master's thesis, Epistemic and Technical Accessibility of Quantum Computers, explored the relationship between technological accessibility, knowledge production, and the governance of quantum computing. 

Prior to joining TUM, Sanhit collaborated with researchers and stakeholders across academia, government and the quantum innovation ecosystem on questions surrounding quantum technology governance and responsible innovation. His interdisciplinary background combines theoretical physics with science and technology studies, enabling him to bridge technical and institutional perspectives on emerging technologies.

His research examines how public institutions develop the capacity to govern transformative technologies under conditions of technical complexity and uncertainty. His interests include quantum technologies, innovation ecosystems, technology governance, institutional readiness, and the governance of emerging digital infrastructures.
