Felix A. Epp is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Professorship of Societal Computing. A transdisciplinary design researcher, he studies how ideas shape interactive technologies. His work is defined by methodological agility, drawing on research through design, speculative design, codesign, and ethnography, and on bringing futures thinking into Human-computer Interaction and design.

His current research examines the political dimensions of interactive technologies as part of the Digital Ideologies project at the University of Helsinki. He earned his doctorate in Computer Science at Aalto University in 2023. At Aalto's Department of Design, Felix established himself as a design researcher, where, alongside his dissertation on the everyday identity practices with wearable technology, he developed futures methods such as Future Ripples during his postdoc. He holds a B.A. in Interactive Media Design and an M.A. in Media Direction from Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, where he also taught from 2014–2017.

Throughout his career, Felix stayed in design practice and applied research, building web interfaces, room-scale installations, automotive interfaces, and wearables in agencies and industry, including the adidas Group, and at the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology. Outside the university, Felix is at home across Europe and a longtime contributor to open-source communities.
